Blackwood Compliance Laboratories become an EMC Notified Body.

On 20th July 2007, the implementation date of the second EMC Directive, 2004/108/EC, Blackwood Labs received the appointment of Notified Body, No. 1902.

The previous role of Competent Body under the old EMC Directive disappears as do Technical Contruction Files.

The role of EMC Notified Bodies for apparatus is to review technical aspects of the EMC Assessment with a view to meeting the essential protection requirements. This is done at the request of the manufacturer and the Notified Body will then provide "a statement".

For further information on the role of a Notified Body and how Notified Body involvement helps you meet Directive 2004/108/EC contact John Davies.
